IDC also interviewed 24 buyer organizations to learn more about how the organizations were able to navigate cultural change and generate business results from using managed Cloud services.

As per the report, HCL's strengths are centered on the company's penetration of managed cloud services across its technology outsourcing business and higher utilization of professional services for technology needs to support client shift to managed cloud services.

On the infrastructure side, HCL shows strength in upgrading client environments to private cloud, replacing existing client infrastructure with public Cloud, and migration of client-owned legacy infrastructure (non-Cloud) to private Cloud involving customizing client technologies to operate like a Cloud.

When it comes to applications, HCL exceeds market standards with migrating applications to Cloud IaaS and rehosting/platforming applications to Cloud IaaS.

From an operational perspective, HCL exceeds market standards in integrating advanced security capabilities (e.g., threat intelligence, managed DDoS, intrusion prevention and detection, breach management) along with recovery services.

When it comes to client feedback, customers highlight HCL's flexibility to engage and partner with clients. HCL's ability to adapt services as needed and not be confined to structures dictated in the contract helped minimize bureaucracy for HCL clients while enhancing customer satisfaction.
